Early Childhood Positive Behavior Support

This year we have implemented positive behavior support strategies in our classrooms. We started with a school wide motto, “Canyon Cubs make “paws”itive” choices” and set 3 child friendly school wide expectations:

1) We take care of ourselves by being safe

2) We take care of our friends by being kind

3) We take care of our school by being responsible

Expectations are explained in positive terms that children can understand, such as eyes forward, walking feet, hands to self and more.  Children are also taught positive social skills such as; share, wait and take turns, ask nicely, get a teacher and many more.
